Donate and Help Rachael's Closet Today!
Rachael’s Closet is an all-volunteer program funded and administered by the Ventura County Foster Parent Association. Any donations of goods or funds are a tax-deductible donation under IRS requirements.
Rachael’s Closet was created in 2011 based on the recognition that everyone needs help! Caring for children in out-of-home placement, being a child who is in care, or being a biological parent that has worked hard to regain custody of your children isn’t the easiest thing to do. We know that sometimes a simple offer of help can change the course of events for the better and make all the difference in the world.
We are different from other organization in the community because while we are all volunteers, we are also Foster Parents, Relative Care Providers, Advocates, Attorneys, Doctors and other professionals who have years of experience to reply upon to support you. We don’t just offer clothes or “things” you might need, we offer our fellowship, support, and mentorship to help you make your life easier. Our team of volunteers, led by Lisa Pugh, are there for you when you need it. Best of all - we help you with no strings attached. We don't require a referral, we are not directly affiliated or managed by any county or state agencies, our services are free and confidential and support all members of community equally - regardless of age, gender, sexual identity, or faith.
Our services are all free of charge but are intended for care providers, kinship providers, biological parents, and foster parents who have a valid placement of one or more children currently in their care who are under court-ordered jurisdiction (an open case), including Family Maintenance.

Making a Tax-Deductible Donation of Goods
We love your donations of new or gently used goods! We'll even pick them up from you!
Just a couple of quick notes about donated items…
We ask that donated items are new or nearly new condition and do not include any food, candy, gum, water, money or razors. We also ask that you PLEASE DO NOT donate dirty, stained, torn, or broken items and items with missing parts as this actually COSTS OUR ASSOCIATION valuable resources in disposing of them at our cost. Rule of thumb – If you wouldn’t let your child wear it or play with it then please don’t donate it!
