January 2018 Meeting – The Impact of Trauma On Family Culture – Vicarious Trauma – Free Training

Free Training Event - January 18, 2018 - The Impact of Trauma On Family Culture - Vicarious Trauma

Vicarious Trauma, creating positive experiences for families and placements – Presented by The Ventura County Foster Parent Association – will be the topic of our first meeting of the new year!

What We Will Cover

Vicarious trauma is the process of change that happens because you care about other people who have been hurt, and feel committed or responsible to help them. Over time this process can lead to changes in your psychological, physical, and spiritual well-being. If you are a humanitarian worker, it is important to understand the process of vicarious trauma, because it will almost certainly impact you in some way. But that’s not all. It will also impact your family, your organization, and the people you are working to help.
