"What we love to do and why!"
Hi! My name is Pattie Hunt. I have been a Foster Parent for Ventura
County since 1996. I have been on the Foster Parent Association
Board for many years, where I serve today as Your Vice President and
Membership Chair. I specialize in Medically Fragile Infants, but have
taken in ages from 0-10. I am currently a Shelter Care Provider, and
find this very fulfilling. Some of the different things I am involved with
include: Instructing the “BASICS” in Foster parenting Class, Foster
Parent MENTOR for Kids and Families Together, Instructor for “Baby
Sign Language” and “Soothing the Fussy Infant”. Feel free to contact

Secretary position which I currently still serve. I work full time as a

Business Office Specialist for a Homeless Outreach Organization,
and feel my work has led me in this direction. My family and I are very
dedicated to serving the foster children and foster parents of Ventura
County. As well as serving on the VCFPA Executive Board, I also
Mentor foster parents through the Kids and Families Together Mentor
Program and teach Pre-Placement Classes and Networking classes
to Foster and Kinship Care Parents through Oxnard and Moorpark
Colleges. We have had several foster placements lasting from 3
days to 18 months and are currently waiting to finalize our first
adoption. I have been through court hearings, contested hearings,
De Facto Parent status, TDMs, adoptions, and reunifications… so if
you need help.. I can at least point you in the right direction! Don’t
hesitate to call.hesitate to call.
