Redirecting Children’s Behavior (series) (West County)

This is your opportunity to attend a "LIFE-CHANGING” PARENTING CLASS! If you ask anyone who has ever
attended the Redirecting Children's Behavior (RCB) 6 week course, you'll hear that you will never parent quite the
same way again! Learn to see the world from your child's perspective, and understand the cause of misbehavior
and lack of cooperation rather than merely treating the symptoms. This class covers all types of misbehaviors in
children from 2½ to 18 years old. The course will be facilitated by Stephanie A. Main, MA who has been teaching
RCB and other parenting classes for over 11 years. This course is fun, informational, and transformational and

Siblings without Rivalry (series) (West County)

Would you like your children learn to get along better? Each week, you will learn and practice specific skills that
reduce friction and make harmony possible. You’ll find out how to: help children express negative feelings without
hurting each other, treat children unequally and still be fair, respond helpfully when children fight, and resolve
conflicts peacefully. Each participant/couple will receive the book “Siblings Without Rivalry: How To Help Your

Special Populations Conference

The 4th Annual Special Populations Conference is designed to inform and inspire professionals and caregivers who
work with youth identified as foster, homeless, migrant, or teen parents. Workshops will focus on resources and
support services in the schools and community, informational sessions pertaining to special populations, and
networking. Come learn about what is available to support the students you work with! The conference is free and
includes breakfast, lunch, and two dynamic keynote speakers! No registration on-site, must pre-register by
October 23rd!
Caring for Your At-Risk Infant (NEW!) (East County)

This program originates from the Pediatric Interim Care Center in Washington that models ways to provide a safe
and healthy start for newborns going through withdrawal from heroine, methadone, cocaine, methamphetamines
and dozens of other illicit and prescription drugs. A variety of topics will be discussed: signs of withdrawal in the
infant, knowing when withdrawal begins and helpful techniques for caring for and calming this child.

Have you been frustrated with your child’s poor response to traditional discipline? Traditional discipline methods
rely on a solid attachment, so perhaps your child’s compromised attachment history is to blame? Attachment
Parenting is uniquely based on the following framework: attachment needs to come first. Meeting needs is the
path to attachment and attachment yields motivation. This six-week workshop series is an interactive curriculum
that engages all your senses. It will help you shift your thinking and learn different ways of addressing the
parent/child relationship, all based on connection. Expect to have fun while you learn!

Foster parents and Group care workers have high demands placed on them on a daily basis. To provide effective
care, it is crucial that caregivers manage their own emotional health relative to the difficult cases they see each
day. This course is designed to equip care providers with practical tools for self-care and management when
working with at-risk youth affected by trauma. An emphasis will be on learning tools that can be taught to youth to
regulate their own emotional well-being. This workshop is presented by Ed Ferrigan, a personal and organizational

Lifebooks Are Forever: Start Now (NEW!) (West County)

A Lifebook is a place to keep birth information, letters, special memories, awards or certificates, photos from the
past and ideas and hopes for the future. Each book will be as unique as the child it celebrates. Books, creativity
supplies and ideas will be provided for each pre-registrant, so bring a photo, drawing or other special items and
begin to record those memories. Foster parents, CASAs and Mentors can make a difference for a lifetime with
this special gift. Children ages 5 and older are invited to participate in Kids'Arts Saturday morning program while
